Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Midday Meal, Cairo in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,472,000.00 (€ 3,663,660.11).

Die Arbeit Harriet Ford's maid von John Frederick Lewis kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.929,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 44%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Midday Meal, Cairo im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.472.000,00 (€ 3.663.660,11).
