Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 7 Eyes by John Finneran was auctioned at Phillips in 6 - in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 762.00 (€ 719.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Finneran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3 Mouths, 3 Trash Cans in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,518.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 7 Eyes von John Finneran im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 6 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 762,00 (€ 719,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Finneran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 3 Mouths, 3 Trash Cans im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.518,90).
