Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A jester and a country girl; and Sad news by John Dawson Watson was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 671.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dawson Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fireside Thoughts in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).

Die Arbeit A jester and a country girl; and Sad news von John Dawson Watson kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 671,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Dawson Watson erzielen.
