This work of art by John Dawson Watson could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS auction, the work Robinson Crusoe changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 292.79) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dawson Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fireside Thoughts in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).
