Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Royal Navy frigate anchored off Gibraltar; and The British fleet lying in Gibraltar Bay (both illustrated) by John Cleveley the Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,861.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cleveley the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views In The South Seas (4) in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 318,850.00 (€ 464,524.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Royal Navy frigate anchored off Gibraltar; and The British fleet lying in Gibraltar Bay (both illustrated) von John Cleveley the Younger kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
