Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2014 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science & Natural History, which included the work Morea, One Of The Friendly Islands In The South Seas by John Cleveley the Younger. The result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,043.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cleveley the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views In The South Seas (4) in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 318,850.00 (€ 464,524.16).
