Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Frigate off dover, Frigate off the needles by John Cleveley the Younger was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in April this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,598.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cleveley the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views In The South Seas (4) in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 318,850.00 (€ 464,524.16).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.598,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
