Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Second Meanie Tree (Upasine And Lethean - Lex Talionis) by John Boyd was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,758.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Café, Fes, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,828.16).

Die Arbeit The Second Meanie Tree (Upasine And Lethean - Lex Talionis) von John Boyd kam im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.758,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Café, Fes beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 16.828,16) versteigert wurde.
