Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Still life with fruit by John Boyd. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,954.98). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Café, Fes, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,828.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with fruit von John Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.954,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Café, Fes beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 16.828,16) versteigert wurde.
