Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Mr W. Thompson's otter hounds on the Esk by John Atkinson. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,287.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Atkinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Appleby Horse Fair, Cumbria in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,894.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mr W. Thompson's otter hounds on the Esk von John Atkinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.287,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Atkinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Appleby Horse Fair, Cumbria im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.894,78).
