Die Arbeit Landschaft mit Vögeln von Johann Wilhelm Preyer kam im November 2011 bei VAN HAM zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.902,00 und übertraf damit den zuvor vom Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreis um 29%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Wilhelm Preyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stillleben mit Weinglas und Früchten im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 97.750,00.
