In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work German still Life With Grapes by Johann Wilhelm Preyer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 26,250.00 (€ 30,690.51), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Wilhelm Preyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stillleben mit Weinglas und Früchten, which sold at auction in October 2003 for EUR 97,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit German still Life With Grapes von Johann Wilhelm Preyer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 26.250,00 (€ 30.690,51) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Wilhelm Preyer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stillleben mit Weinglas und Früchten beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für EUR 97.750,00 versteigert wurde.
