Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Seated Nude) by Joe Brainard was auctioned at Phillips in 6 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,159.00 (€ 2,039.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joe Brainard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thirty Squares in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,231.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Seated Nude) von Joe Brainard kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 6 - zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.159,00 (€ 2.039,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Brainard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thirty Squares im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.231,29).
