Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work An Opera For Lilly by Joan Snyder for USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,698.41). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Snyder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Stripper in November this year with an auction result of USD 478,800.00 (€ 438,943.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Opera For Lilly von Joan Snyder für USD 16.800,00 (€ 12.698,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Snyder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Stripper im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 478.800,00 (€ 438.943,89).
