Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cornfield, Catterline by Joan Eardley was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 11,475.00 (€ 13,594.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Eardley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cornfield, Catterline von Joan Eardley wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion The Scottish Sale bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.475,00 (€ 13.594,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
