Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy and Cat by Joan Eardley was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,000.00 (€ 22,509.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joan Eardley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boy and Cat von Joan Eardley kam im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 19.000,00 (€ 22.509,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Eardley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
