Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Untitled (White Square Lavender) by Jo Baer. It changed hands for a price of USD 118,750.00 (€ 112,431.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jo Baer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 327,600.00 (€ 307,490.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (White Square Lavender) von Jo Baer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 112.431,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jo Baer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 327.600,00 (€ 307.490,14) versteigert wurde.
