The work Dawn Chorus 9 by Jitish Kallat was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2018. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,336.50), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jitish Kallat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).

Die Arbeit Dawn Chorus 9 von Jitish Kallat wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.336,50) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21).
