Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jim Lambie could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Plastic Ono changed hands for USD 6,300.00 (€ 6,439.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Lambie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Careless Whisper in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 203,117.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Lambie konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit Plastic Ono für USD 6.300,00 (€ 6.439,74) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Lambie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Careless Whisper im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 203.117,21).
