Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Somebody to Love by Jim Lambie was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 43,004.80). Admittedly, works by Jim Lambie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Careless Whisper in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 203,117.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Somebody to Love von Jim Lambie wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 43.004,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jim Lambie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Careless Whisper im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 203.117,21).
