Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Light, White Heat by Jim Lambie was auctioned at Phillips in 12 - in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,445.00 (€ 5,065.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Lambie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Careless Whisper in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 203,117.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit White Light, White Heat von Jim Lambie kam im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 12 - zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.445,00 (€ 5.065,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Lambie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Careless Whisper im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 203.117,21).
