Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jervis McEntee could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work October in the Catskills changed hands for USD 47,800.00 (€ 39,125.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jervis McEntee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gathering Firewood, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
