Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Closed Contact #5 by Jenny Saville was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale (Morning and Afternoon) auction at Sothebys in London in February 2007. The price achieved of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,789.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jenny Saville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Propped in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 9,537,250.00 (€ 10,755,075.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Closed Contact #5 von Jenny Saville wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale (Morning and Afternoon) bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.789,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jenny Saville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Propped im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.537.250,00 (€ 10.755.075,69).
