Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Christies in New York held the auction 21st Century Evening Sale, which included the work Persephone by Jenny Saville. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,680,000.00 (€ 3,373,670.70), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jenny Saville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Propped, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 9,537,250.00 (€ 10,755,075.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Persephone von Jenny Saville zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.680.000,00 (€ 3.373.670,70) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jenny Saville mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Propped beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 9.537.250,00 (€ 10.755.075,69) versteigert wurde.
