Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Rembrandt to Richter, which included the work Stare Iii by Jenny Saville. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,075,000.00 (€ 3,429,928.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jenny Saville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Propped, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 9,537,250.00 (€ 10,755,075.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Rembrandt to Richter durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stare Iii von Jenny Saville zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.075.000,00 (€ 3.429.928,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jenny Saville mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Propped beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 9.537.250,00 (€ 10.755.075,69) versteigert wurde.
