Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Dervish 1 by Jennifer Steinkamp. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,520.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jennifer Steinkamp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Judy Crook, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 118,750.00 (€ 87,060.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dervish 1 von Jennifer Steinkamp zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.520,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jennifer Steinkamp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Judy Crook beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 118.750,00 (€ 87.060,12) versteigert wurde.
