Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Orbit 3 by Jennifer Steinkamp was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,255.00 (€ 9,391.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jennifer Steinkamp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Judy Crook in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 87,060.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Orbit 3 von Jennifer Steinkamp wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.255,00 (€ 9.391,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jennifer Steinkamp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Judy Crook im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 87.060,12).
