Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Study For The Construction Fence by Jeffrey Smart was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 72,000.00 (€ 43,054.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeffrey Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Painted Factory, Tuscany in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 870,000.00 (€ 511,490.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Study For The Construction Fence von Jeffrey Smart kam im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 72.000,00 (€ 43.054,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
