This artwork by Jeffrey Smart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sidney in August last year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Man with Bouquet, 1982 sold for AUD 12,300.00 (€ 8,390.64) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeffrey Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Painted Factory, Tuscany in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 870,000.00 (€ 511,490.18).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jeffrey Smart erzielte im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Man with Bouquet, 1982 für AUD 12.300,00 (€ 8.390,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeffrey Smart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Painted Factory, Tuscany im August 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 870.000,00 (€ 511.490,18).
