Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jean Pougny
When the work Chaise Et Boîte À Chapeaux by Jean Pougny was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,354,727.13). Despite this disappointing result, Chaise Et Boîte À Chapeaux is the most expensive artwork by Jean Pougny that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Chaise Et Boîte À Chapeaux von Jean Pougny im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.762.500,00 (€ 1.354.727,13) den Besitzer.
