Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,760.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Deshays - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Woman, Said To Be Madame Deshays, Turning Towards The Viewer And Holding A Book, which sold at auction in February 2018 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,828.35).
