Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figure Féminine Drapée, Vue De Dos Et Regardant Un Miroir by Jean-Baptiste Deshays was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 14,400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Deshays - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Woman, Said To Be Madame Deshays, Turning Towards The Viewer And Holding A Book, which sold at auction in February 2018 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,828.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Figure Féminine Drapée, Vue De Dos Et Regardant Un Miroir von Jean-Baptiste Deshays im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 14.400,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Deshays mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Young Woman, Said To Be Madame Deshays, Turning Towards The Viewer And Holding A Book beobachtet, die im Februar 2018 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.828,35) versteigert wurde.
