Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Jean-Baptiste Deshays could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Arts of France auction, the work Diana and Callisto; and Jupiter and Danaë changed hands for USD 2,820.00 (€ 3,243.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Deshays achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Woman, Said To Be Madame Deshays, Turning Towards The Viewer And Holding A Book in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,828.35).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Young Woman, Said To Be Madame Deshays, Turning Towards The Viewer And Holding A Book im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.828,35).
