The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Surprise: A couple embracing while a figure dressed as Mezzetin tunes a guitar in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 12,361,250.00 (€ 15,705,107.29).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Antoine Watteau erzielen.
