Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Head of a child in a feathered hat, looking to the right by Jean-Antoine Watteau was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Christies in London in July 2016. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 74,263.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Antoine Watteau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Surprise: A couple embracing while a figure dressed as Mezzetin tunes a guitar in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 12,361,250.00 (€ 15,705,107.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Head of a child in a feathered hat, looking to the right von Jean-Antoine Watteau wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert.
