Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Two Rocks with Faces, Gazebos, Flattened Gazebo, and White Crystals) by Jay Davis was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,299.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jay Davis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work It’s Time to Go, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,084.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Two Rocks with Faces, Gazebos, Flattened Gazebo, and White Crystals) von Jay Davis kam im März 2009 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.299,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jay Davis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit It’s Time to Go beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.084,73) versteigert wurde.
