Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Little Lady Of The Sea by Janet Scudder. It changed hands for a price of USD 32,500.00 (€ 23,349.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Janet Scudder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young Diana, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,269.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Little Lady Of The Sea von Janet Scudder zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 23.349,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Janet Scudder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Young Diana beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.269,01) versteigert wurde.
