Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Frog Baby' by Janet Scudder was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,536.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janet Scudder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Diana in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,269.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Frog Baby' von Janet Scudder wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.536,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janet Scudder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Young Diana im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.269,01).
