Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Frog Baby by Janet Scudder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,170.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janet Scudder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Diana in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,269.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frog Baby von Janet Scudder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.170,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janet Scudder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Young Diana im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.269,01).
