Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cupid and Tortoise by Janet Scudder was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2007. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,670.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Janet Scudder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Young Diana in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,269.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cupid and Tortoise von Janet Scudder wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.670,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Janet Scudder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Young Diana im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.269,01).
