The work Mosquito Island by Janaina Tschäpe was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2008. It achieved a price of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,160.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janaina Tschäpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Square Soap Bubbles in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mosquito Island von Janaina Tschäpe wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.160,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janaina Tschäpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Square Soap Bubbles im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 76.926,72).
