Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Twentieth Century Art, which included the work A Village Street (Recto); Cornfields With The Churches Of Zuidwolde In The Distance (Verso) by Jan van der Zee. The price achieved of EUR 6,850.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van der Zee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 40,468.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Twentieth Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Village Street (Recto); Cornfields With The Churches Of Zuidwolde In The Distance (Verso) von Jan van der Zee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.850,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van der Zee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 40.468,67).
