Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Collection of Landscapes by Jan van de Velde II was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,122.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van de Velde II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Village On A Broad River With Two Horseman At A Gateway To The Left; And An Abbey By A River With A Group of Monks On A Track in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 355,200.00 (€ 515,214.25).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 937,50 (€ 1.122,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van de Velde II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Village On A Broad River With Two Horseman At A Gateway To The Left; And An Abbey By A River With A Group of Monks On A Track im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 355.200,00 (€ 515.214,25).
