Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Two Landscape Sketches: A River Landscape; A Landscape With A Ruined Castle by Jan van de Velde II. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,834.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van de Velde II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Village On A Broad River With Two Horseman At A Gateway To The Left; And An Abbey By A River With A Group of Monks On A Track in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 355,200.00 (€ 515,214.25).

Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Landscape Sketches: A River Landscape; A Landscape With A Ruined Castle von Jan van de Velde II zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.834,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van de Velde II erzielen.
