However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Couver - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch village on a canal, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,184.61).

Die Arbeit 'The Old Drawbridge, Zwolle' von Jan van Couver kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 1.020,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van Couver mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dutch village on a canal beobachtet, die im September 2005 für USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.184,61) versteigert wurde.
