A top price for Jan van Couver - as previously expected
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Dutch village on a canal by Jan van Couver. The price achieved of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,184.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dutch village on a canal is the most expensive artwork by Jan van Couver that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch village on a canal von Jan van Couver zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.184,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Dutch village on a canal das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jan van Couver, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
