This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Jan van Beers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Après le bal in March last year with an auction result of GBP 319,000.00 (€ 378,210.40).
