This artwork by Jan van Beers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2002. In the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work La belle Egyptienne sold for EUR 4,935.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 2,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Beers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Après le bal in March last year with an auction result of GBP 319,000.00 (€ 378,210.40).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan van Beers erzielte im Januar 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit La belle Egyptienne für EUR 4.935,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 2.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Beers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Après le bal im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 319.000,00 (€ 378.210,40).
