In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Still Life With Fruit by Jan Matulka. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Matulka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit von Jan Matulka zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Matulka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 164.840,56).
