Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Matulka could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Abstraction changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,412.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Matulka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Matulka konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Abstraction für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.412,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Matulka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 164.840,56).
